Manhattan During COVID-19 Pandemic

During this time as we face many changes, restrictions and challenges, isolation and social distancing, Mother Nature is thriving amidst the decrease in toxic pollution. She has entered a period of convalescence and has been showing signs of resurgence.

Flowers are larger in size and brighter in color. The sky is clear blue — the way it was intended to be before pollution engulfed it in a haze of grey.

It reminds us of the triumphant spirit of nature and that we have the same spirit within us during this challenging time.

With “Tulips on Park Avenue” I was lucky to be at the right spot at the right time to capture the sunlight on the flowers. As Karen Gutfreund, artist and curator stated, ” Georgeous. I love the light making the petals transparent and diaphanous.”

Mother Nature rewards us when we take better care of her. I hope we learn from this lesson.

You can literally stand in the middle of major streets like Fifth Avenue at 59 Street and casually take photographs like the ones you see above, without worrying about been in harm’s way. It is very surreal.
